We’re staying close to home this month, and it’s got me thinking about all the fun vegetarian-friendly stuff I need to check out in Minneapolis. Here’s a short list: 1. Fast and Furless Vegan Emporium, 2615 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis: This store carries a variety of purses, shoes, t-shirts, cosmetics, cards and more that [...] On Friday I stopped by the Groveland Tap in St. Paul, and it reminded me of why I like the Blue Plate Restaurant Company. The company owns several different restaurants, but it’d be unfair to characterize them as a chain – each one of them has it’s own feel and a slightly different menu. [...] Another cold, rainy morning. It’s been difficult to fight the urge for hibernation during this chilly, wet month, but we’ve still enjoyed autumn with a trip to the orchard, a drive through the St. Croix River Valley and gallons of apple cider.
